Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

Tasks
- Collaboration in teaching and research
- Acquisition of research projects (BMBF; DFG); third-party funding applications
- Strategic project acquisition; identification and evaluation of research programs, project sponsors and funding bodies
- Conducting research projects and publications in English and, if necessary, also in German, on digital media communication (based on media and communication science, media psychology and computational communication science) and related scientific disciplines. Active participation in the international scientific community (conference contributions, expert opinions)
- External research coordination, maintaining contact with potential cooperation partners, coordination of joint activities with cooperation partners
- Representation of the subject area at international conferences and vis-à-vis cooperation partners
- Preparation of research investments, with the support of colleagues and assistants
- Oversee the development of specialized research tools and inventory. Supporting colleagues and students with research projects and publications English, and possibly German, on Media and Communication Studies/WebScience.
Requirements
- Successfully completed scientific university studies (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in cultural, social or engineering sciences
- English-language research publications
- Knowledge of the research landscape on media use and media and communication science in general, as well as in computational communication science and possibly a related field (e.g. psychology, social sciences in general, data science, engineering, and cultural studies, possibly practical knowledge in one of these areas)
- Translation skills at a high professional level
- the ability to teach in German and/or English is a prerequisite; willingness to acquire the missing language skills in each case
- sound knowledge of scientific work
- proven practical experience in the implementation of research projects
- proven experience in working with transdisciplinary non-university project partners
- Experience in the acquisition and implementation of (collaborative) research projects
Desirable:
- Good external research network and international cooperation
- Strategic and networked thinking
- Goal orientation, representation skills
- Proven organizational skills through international research experience
- Strong analytical thinking
- Very good expression and competence in writing scientific texts (proven by publications)
