Tasks
Within a third-party funded research project the TU Berlin will develop through means of ion-exchange and fs-laser structuring methods innovative SERS microplates made of glass.
The work at TU Berlin focusses on the development of SERS-substrates (Surface Enhanced Raman Spectrsoscopy) by nanoparticle integration. These nanoparticles will be integrating through ion-exchange processes. In addition, microplates made from glass will be developed using SLE processes (Selective Laser Etching). In combination with SERS, state-of-the-art substrates for analytics are being developed together with a project partner for use in biosensor technology in particular.
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Biophysics / Photonics / Physical engineering / Physics or related Subjects
- Knowledge and experience in:
a) Optics (Fundamentals, lasertechnology, free-space optics)
b) Raman spectroscopy - Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge in Statistical experimental planning (DoE) and evaluation
- Knowledge in Laser-glass interactions (especially Selective Laser Etching)
- Structured and independent work style
- Readiness to assume responsibilities for sub-tasks
- Capable of working in a Team, readiness for thorough documentation
