Chair (W2) of Medieval History
At the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, the Institute of History, invites applications for the
Chair (W2) of Medieval History
to be filled at the earliest possible date.
Tasks
You (m/f/x) will represent the above-mentioned field with its national as well as international perspectives in research and teaching. You will be responsible for teaching courses in both German and English within our degree programs with history as major or minor, including the teacher training program. In addition, you are expected to participate in the interdisciplinary research networks of TUD and to cooperate with DRESDEN-concept partners as well as with other cooperation partners. Participation in academic self-administration is required.
Requirements
We expect you to have a research profile with a focus on German history and another one on European, non-European or global history of the Middle Ages. You can demonstrate your expertise by internationally visible publications and an active scholarly network. In addition, you have a lively interest in current theories and debates concerning historical science, cultural studies, and/or the social sciences as well as an open-mindedness towards the Digital Humanities. A proven record of third-party funding is a prerequisite. The requirements for appointment, the official duties and the administrative status are governed by §§ 59, 69, 71 of the Institutions of Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG) and the Regulations on Duties and Responsibilities of Institutes of Higher Education (HSDAVO).
