The pro­fess­or­ship is loc­ated at the Insti­tute for Health (IfG) at the Sen­ften­berg cam­pus of the BTU Cott­bus-Sen­ften­berg. The IfG (https://www.b-tu.de/institut-gesundheit) was foun­ded in 2016 at the Sen­ften­berg cam­pus dur­ing a pro­gramme of struc­tural change in the region and endeav­ours to play a lead­ing role in health sci­ence rese­arch and in estab­lish­ing aca­demic edu­ca­tion for health pro­fes­sions. We are seek­ing someone with exper­i­ence in teach­ing and rese­arch in the field of nurs­ing sci­ence. What is expec­ted: will­ing­ness to net­work with the main rese­arch areas of the fac­ulty, to col­lab­or­ate in an inter­dis­cip­lin­ary man­ner, to par­ti­cip­ate in the pro­fes­sion­al­isa­tion of the health­care pro­fes­sions, to fur­ther deve­lop the IfG, and to work with com­mit­ment in aca­demic self-admin­is­tra­tion.

Assign­ments should pri­mar­ily be per­for­med at the bach­elor’s degree in nurs­ing sci­ence level, as well as in the mas­ter’s degree in voca­tio­nal edu­ca­tion for the health pro­fes­sions and in other plan­ned mas­ter’s degree pro­gram­mes at the Insti­tute for Health. The pro­fess­or­ship shall also be asso­ci­ated with man­aging a sep­ar­ate work area at the uni­ver­sity, the man­age­ment of the bach­elor's degree in nurs­ing sci­ence, and par­ti­cip­a­tion in the fur­ther estab­lish­ment of aca­dem­ic­ally trai­ned nurs­ing staff in the state of Bran­den­burg. In addi­tion, col­lab­or­a­tions with health care insti­tu­tions must also be fur­ther deve­lo­ped and main­tai­ned. The pos­i­tion appoin­tee shall also con­trib­ute, in par­tic­u­lar through rese­arch activ­it­ies and the pro­mo­tion of young sci­ent­ists, to the sci­ent­i­fic pro­fil­ing of the insti­tute and fur­ther devel­op­ment of the dis­cip­line of nurs­ing sci­ence.

Lec­tures are pri­mar­ily to be held in Ger­man, flu­ency in Eng­lish is expec­ted.

Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Bran­den­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Bran­den­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.

The per­son to occupy the pos­i­tion should have the­or­et­ical and prac­tical skills in the field they are appoin­ted. This espe­cially inclu­des rese­arch, teach­ing, and advan­ced edu­ca­tion be gea­red towards the require­ments of health care and to sci­ent­i­fic find­ings in nurs­ing sci­ence and rela­ted sci­ences.

The can­did­ate for the pos­i­tion should pos­sess the fol­low­ing:

• a com­ple­ted dip­loma or mas­ter’s degree in nurs­ing sci­ence, or a com­par­able course of study,
• com­ple­ted voca­tio­nal train­ing in the nurs­ing pro­fes­sion,
• a spe­cial apti­tude towards aca­demic work, which must nor­mally be pro­ven in the form of a com­ple­ted doc­tor­ate,
• evid­ence of an apti­tude and suit­ab­il­ity for teach­ing,
• spe­cial achieve­ments in the app­lic­a­tion or devel­op­ment of sci­ent­i­fic know­ledge and meth­ods in at least three years of pro­fes­sio­nal prac­tice, of which at least two years must have been spent out­side of the uni­ver­sity sec­tor
• teach­ing and rese­arch activ­it­ies in the field of nurs­ing sci­ence as well as pub­lic­a­tions in rel­ev­ant and recog­nised spe­cial­ist journ­als,
• a will­ing­ness to fur­ther deve­lop the edu­ca­tio­nal and rese­arch pro­file of the Insti­tute for Health.

Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion and real­isa­tion of third-party fun­ded pro­jects is expec­ted. Fields of rese­arch should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG (Ger­man Rese­arch Found­a­tion) or sim­ilar inter­na­tio­nal rese­arch fund­ing organ­isa­tions.
