Working field:
The professorship is located at the Institute for Health (IfG) at the Senftenberg campus of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. The IfG (
https://www.b-tu.de/institut-gesundheit) was founded in 2016 at the Senftenberg campus during a programme of structural change in the region and endeavours to play a leading role in health science research and in establishing academic education for health professions. We are seeking someone with experience in teaching and research in the field of nursing science. What is expected: willingness to network with the main research areas of the faculty, to collaborate in an interdisciplinary manner, to participate in the professionalisation of the healthcare professions, to further develop the IfG, and to work with commitment in academic self-administration.
Assignments should primarily be performed at the bachelor’s degree in nursing science level, as well as in the master’s degree in vocational education for the health professions and in other planned master’s degree programmes at the Institute for Health. The professorship shall also be associated with managing a separate work area at the university, the management of the bachelor's degree in nursing science, and participation in the further establishment of academically trained nursing staff in the state of Brandenburg. In addition, collaborations with health care institutions must also be further developed and maintained. The position appointee shall also contribute, in particular through research activities and the promotion of young scientists, to the scientific profiling of the institute and further development of the discipline of nursing science.
Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
Requirements:
The person to occupy the position should have theoretical and practical skills in the field they are appointed. This especially includes research, teaching, and advanced education be geared towards the requirements of health care and to scientific findings in nursing science and related sciences.
The candidate for the position should possess the following:
Experience in the acquisition and realisation of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or similar international research funding organisations.
