The Institute for Art History and Historical Urban Studies at Technische Universität Berlin pursues a practice- and object-oriented approach, which is strongly reflected in the bachelor's program in Culture and Technology with the core subject Art History and the research-oriented master's program in Art Studies with the specializations Art Technology and Museum (in cooperation with the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, the Berlin state museums). The core concepts underlying teaching at the institute are the early introduction of students to academic work in the context of research and publication projects, as well as art historical work centered on the objects themselves.
