Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

We are looking for a research assistant to carry out a research project on the topic of foundations with a reduced amount of concrete and the implementation of waste wood as a structural element:

  • Development of concepts for foundations with a reduced amount of concrete and derivation of design concepts
  • Realisation and analysis of experimental investigations to compare the design concepts
  • If necessary, numerical simulation of the load-bearing capacity
  • Development of concepts for the use of reclaimed timber as load-bearing components
  • Realisation and analysis experimental studies on the load transfer and deformation behaviour of reclaimed timber beams

It is planned to elongate the research project and the position up to a total duration of 24 months.

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in the field of civil engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of structural engineering
  • Very good understanding of load transfer in structures
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:

  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with architects
  • Ability to develop load-bearing concepts and think conceptually
