Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research Assistant - 0.75 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

  • Integration of geological, geophysical, geothermal and geodetic data into consistent numerical 3D models
  • Numerical simulations of coupled thermal, hydraulic and chemical processes, taking into account the existing heterogeneity
  • Coupling data-based simulations of underground processes with simulations from other working groups, e.g. those investigating surface processes
  • Validation of the simulation results on the basis of observations
  • Quantification of the long-term effects of varying boundary conditions
  • Interpretation and publication of the results

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master's or equivalent) in physics, mathematics or geosciences
  • Sound knowledge of thermo-hydraulic-chemical relationships in the lithosphere
  • Good knowledge of geochemistry and reactive transport
  • Basic knowledge of 3D structural modelling and numerical methods
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python, Fortran or C/C++) are an advantage
  • good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
