Research Associate (PostDoc) - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 2nd qualification period (Habilitation)

Part-time employment is may be possible

Working field:

  • research and publication activities in thematic areas of the research field of the professorship (e.g. higher education institutions, organizations and practices in the context of diversity (from an intersectional perspective), of internationalization, of digitality and digitization e.g. through the use of AI-driven tools, or of datafication, ...)
  • assistance in the acquisition of third-party funding as well as collaboration in science communication in the above-mentioned research field
  • teaching and examination activities within the framework of the modules offered at the Institute of Educational Science (teaching duties currently amounting to 4 SWS)
  • work on own qualification (Habilitation)

Requirements:

  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Staatsexamen, Diplom or equivalent) in educational science, political science, sociology, psychology, computer science, or a related subject
  • successful doctoral degree in one of the following subjects: education, sociology, political science, or a related subject with a research focus in the field of higher education
  • very good knowledge of qualitative and/ or quantitative social research methods
  • ideas for a postdoctoral project in the above subject area
  • relevant teaching experience
  • ability to teach and publish in English and German
  • very good cooperation and communication skills

Desired is:
  • motivation to get involved in new research methods and topics (e.g. Natural Language Processing, Learning Analytics)
  • international and/or comparative perspective on research topics
  • advanced training in higher education didactics or willingness to attend such training
  • experience in the creation of Open Educational Resources (OER) or willingness to learn how to do so
  • programming skills advantageous or motivation to learn them
