Tasks
The EU-funded metrology project HyMetBat aims at the hybrid metrology of sustainable and low carbon footprint battery materials. At the TU Berlin the chemical analysis of different battery materials is planned using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray emission (XES) spectrometers available at the BLiX (Berlin laboratory for innovative X-ray technologies).
Following tasks must be performed: Ex-situ Investigation of pristine and cycled materials, operando XRF measurements on complete battery systems during cyclization, evaluation and processing of the data.
Requirements
- successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) in the field of physics, engineering, chemistry or equivalent
- in-depth knowledge of X-ray analysis and advanced knowledge of X-ray emission and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy
- significant experience with laboratory spectrometers based on X-ray tube excitation
- good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills in each case
- very good programming skills
Desirable:
- Experience in the analysis of battery materials
- Experience in the development of quantification methods
- Experience with large project consortia
