Junior/Senior Firmware Development Engineer (m/f/x)

We are offering a full-time position with a hybrid working model. Our office is in Braunschweig city center.


  • Being part of the chip development team, define, implement, and support FW architectures of SoC design projects with complex analog/digital IP blocks from early concept phase to mass production
  • Develop, enhance and debug new and existing real-time firmware in C
  • Drive FW development for performance, scalability, modularity, robustness and tight HW integration
  • Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimization
  • Define and/or provide guidance on test plans for code regression and lab validation
  • Collaborate with chip, module, and system development teams to find optimal overall system solutions
  • Support external partners such as IP design teams, validation, and volume production vendors
  • Implement continuous improvements and best practices within the team, and larger organization
  • Working in an open-minded team with cross task support like PCB schematic review
  • Create project documentation

Erwartete Qualifikationen:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science or a related subject
  • Experience with Firmware design, architecture, and algorithm development
  • Strong skills delivering top quality C code in a real time embedded SoC environment
  • Python, MATLAB, and other languages is a plus
  • Expert software fundamentals including architectural design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity and maintainability
  • Excellent working experience of bring-up and measurement of complex IC designs
  • Test driven development experience desired using unit testing, software/hardware in the loop methodologies Our developers participate significantly in firmware testing, so a validation mindset is required
  • Own assignments with full accountability, remain engaged, be proactive and positive while solving very challenging problems
  • Knowledge of optical fiber communication systems, higher order modulation formats is a plus
  • Close collaboration with teams globally distributed; willingness to travel just occasionally
  • Home-office where adequate and possible
  • Self-motivated, ability to work in a multidisciplinary multi-site team
  • Excellent language skills in English and basic skills in German
