Editorial Assistant (m/f/d)

(permanent 50 %-contract, TVöD E12, starting on January 1, 2024

Working field:

The newly appointed colleague will join the team of Department II, which focuses on the relationship between knowledge systems and collective life. Researchers in the department use historical and ethnographic methods to explore the relationship between these overlapping domains in the past and present. Further information about the department can be found here. The working language of the department is English.

Requirements:

  • MA degree in a relevant field
  • native-level English language competency
  • a very good command of French or Spanish
  • a working knowledge of German
  • experience in editorial tasks, translations and management in an academic publishing environment
  • very good command of office software for text processing, formatting, and manuscript organization including bibliographing and indexing
  • experience with image editing and graphic design would be a plus
  • you are a dedicated, reliable and creative colleague with a genuine interest in academic research and the ability to work in a team
