DNV ist im Jahr 2013 durch einen Zusam­men­schluss der zwei füh­ren­den Klas­si­fi­ka­ti­ons­ge­sell­schaf­ten Det Nor­ske Veri­tas (Nor­we­gen) und Ger­ma­ni­scher Lloyd (Deutsch­land) ent­stan­den. DNV ist nach der Gesamt­ton­nage (BRZ) gerech­net der­zeit die größte Schiffs­klas­si­fi­ka­ti­ons­ge­sell­schaft der Welt. Das Port­fo­lio umfasst 13.175 Schiffe und MOUs (Mobile Off­shore Units) mit einer Ton­nage von ins­ge­samt 265,4 Mil­lio­nen BRZ; das ent­spricht einem Markt­an­teil von 21 Pro­zent. Renew­ables Cer­ti­fic­a­tion (RC) belongs to busi­ness area Energy Sys­tems (ES) with more than 4000 people glob­ally. Renew­ables Cer­ti­fic­a­tion has the global respons­ib­il­ity for Type Cer­ti­fic­a­tion (TC), Com­pon­ent Cer­ti­fic­a­tion (CC) and Pro­ject Cer­ti­fic­a­tion (PC) for Renew­ables within ES. Cur­rently Renew­ables Cer­ti­fic­a­tion con­sists of 250+ experts with loc­a­tions in Beijing, Boston, Copen­ha­gen, Dresden, Esb­jerg, Ham­burg, Høvik, Lon­don, Busan, Shang­hai, Taipei and Yoko­hama.

Renew­ables Cer­ti­fic­a­tion is the global mar­ket leader in the Renew­ables Cer­ti­fic­a­tion mar­ket and is involved in 80% of Pro­ject Cer­ti­fic­a­tion for off­shore wind parks includ­ing off­shore sub­sta­tions in the world.

For Type and Com­pon­ent cer­ti­fic­a­tion depart­ment, we are cur­rently look­ing for a ded­ic­ated struc­tural engin­eer with a strong pro­file and keen interest in work­ing in renew­able energy. We (Tur­bine Engin­eer­ing sec­tion) con­sist of 13 tech­nical experts/pro­ject man­agers who are deal­ing with Type and Com­pon­ent Cer­ti­fic­a­tion and Mater­ial Type Approvals for non-metal­lic mater­i­als. We are also very act­ive doing the shop approvals, repair shop approvals and lab approvals for wind tur­bine sup­pli­ers.

As an enthu­si­astic engin­eer, the main focus of the work will be on the design reviews and man­u­fac­tur­ing inspec­tions of wind tur­bine struc­tural com­pon­ents and pro­ject man­age­ment of Type and Com­pon­ent Cer­ti­fic­a­tion. Areas of respons­ib­il­ity and tasks include, but are not lim­ited to:

Struc­tural veri­fic­a­tion of wind tur­bine struc­tural com­pon­ents using com­mer­cial Finite Ele­ment Ana­lysis soft­ware as well as in-house soft­ware for spe­cific tasks.
Assess­ment of cus­tom­ers’ draw­ings and tech­nical spe­cific­a­tions.
Inspec­tion activ­it­ies includ­ing man­u­fac­tur­ing, wit­ness­ing of com­pon­ent test­ing etc.
Assess­ment of mater­ial tests and design meth­od­o­lo­gies for wind tur­bine com­pon­ents.
Pro­ject man­age­ment for Type and com­pon­ent cer­ti­fic­a­tion.

Requirements:

  • Engin­eer­ing degree (M.Sc / B.Sc or higher) in civil, struc­tural, mech­an­ical, or aerospace engin­eer­ing or equi­val­ent
  • 3-5 years exper­i­ence within the Wind Energy industry
  • 3-5 years exper­i­ence with FEM soft­ware such as ANSYS or Abaqus. Exper­i­ence with FE mod­el­ling of machinery com­pon­ents (cast iron, steel, hybrid mater­i­als), bolted joints, and wel­ded joints will be con­sidered an advant­age
  • Exper­i­ence with mater­ial char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion, includ­ing fatigue
  • Some pro­gram­ming skills (python) are an advant­age
  • Strong Eng­lish lan­guage skills (writ­ten and spoken)
  • Under­stand­ing of tech­nical inter­faces and com­mer­cial aware­ness
  • Pro­ject Man­age­ment exper­i­ence is an advant­age
  • Flex­ible and a strong appet­ite to learn
