Im Her­zen der Lau­sitz ver­bin­det die BTU her­aus­ra­gende inter­na­tio­nale For­schung mit zukunfts­ori­en­tier­ter Lehre. Sie leis­tet mit Wis­sens-, Tech­no­lo­gie­trans­fer und Wei­ter­bil­dung einen wich­ti­gen Bei­trag für Gesell­schaft, Kul­tur und Wirt­schaft. Als Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät bie­tet die BTU ein bun­des­weit ein­zig­ar­ti­ges Lehr­kon­zept: Bei uns kön­nen Stu­di­en­gänge uni­ver­si­tär, fach­hoch­schu­lisch und dual stu­diert wer­den.

Pro­fess­or­ship Com­puter Net­works and
Com­mu­nic­a­tion Sys­tems (W3)

Working field:

Within the fac­ulty, there are excel­lent oppor­tun­it­ies for cooper­a­tion with the depart­ments of Oper­at­ing Sys­tems and Dis­trib­uted Sys­tems, Soft­ware Sys­tems Engin­eer­ing, Com­puter Engin­eer­ing and IT Secur­ity and with the Leib­niz Insti­tute for Innov­at­ive Micro­elec­tron­ics (IHP) in Frank­furt (Oder).

In teach­ing, the applic­ant is expec­ted to offer courses in Ger­man and Eng­lish in all com­puter sci­ence pro­grams espe­cially inform­at­ics, Cyber Secur­ity, Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence. In addi­tion, the can­did­ate will also teach courses for other fac­ulties.

Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion of third-party fund­ing and in the imple­ment­a­tion of third-party pro­jects is expec­ted. Research top­ics should be rel­ev­ant to the DFG or com­par­able inter­na­tional research fund­ing agen­cies.

Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Branden­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Higher Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Branden­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.


Suc­cess­ful applic­ants will have their research focus on secur­ity in com­puter net­works. We are look­ing for a strong research per­son­al­ity with an inter­na­tional track record in addi­tion­ally at least one of the fol­low­ing-men­tioned fields:
  • Net­work Archi­tec­ture
  • Intel­li­gent / Adapt­ive Com­mu­nic­a­tion Sys­tems
  • Data Cen­ter Net­work­ing
  • Cloud Com­put­ing
  • Per­form­ance eval­u­ation / mod­el­ing of net­worked sys­tems
  • Soft­ware-Defined Net­work­ing / Net­work Func­tion Vir­tu­al­iz­a­tion
  • Inter­net of Things
  • Mobile Ad-hoc Net­works
